In December 2020, we were all alarmed to hear that Dublin Zoo were in financial difficulties and there was a possibility that Dublin Zoo would close its doors for good. The animals were in need of adoption. As this news gripped the nation, we at HCK stepped up to a great cause. As a school community we decided that we were going to fundraise and adopt as many animals as we could. With staff and students on board, we began our quest. I am very happy to announce that as a result of our wonderful efforts we were able to adopt 17 animals. We raised €885.00
We have received our certifications for each animal and 17 free adult passes to Dublin Zoo. These adult passes will be donated to a local SVP conference to be distributed to young families. I would like to take this opportunity to thank each and every one of you for being so willing to support such a great cause and for achieving this tremendous feat.
