The first House Day of the school year began with the opening school mass, which was made even more special by the visit of Sr. Geraldine. Sr. Geraldine is a very important member of our school community as she is a House Patron. We were delighted that Sr. Geraldine could come to HCK to enjoy the day's celebrations alongside her two grandnieces. At the school mass, the Ministers of the Eucharist were presented to the school, and it was lovely to finally all be back together as the whole school again. Following the mass everyone gathered on the grass in their Houses to begin the day's festivities! Delicious cakes and sweet treats made generously by each girl in their House colours were shared around and everyone enjoyed the famous Holy Child picnic! After the sunny gathering, the girls got into a big circle in their Houses to begin the games of the day. It began with pass the parcel, with the final winners winning the House bunnies! The excitement continued on with a few more fun games where all students participated in their House groups. The winning House, Madeleine House, got to end the day with a piñata. Finally, the day finished up with a few songs and ‘dance battles’ between everyone, the announcement of the House day's winners; Madeleine House, and lots of laughter. It was amazing to be back enjoying House Days once more and we were so lucky and blessed to have such a beautiful sunny day for it.
