On Wednesday 21st October, the TY girls completed the second hike towards their bronze Gaisce award. We met bright and early in Bray, and were very excited to see a camera crew filming on the beach. Some of the girls are convinced they saw Matt Damon! To keep everyone safe the year was split up into small groups of 15. We walked to the top of Bray Head and then enjoyed having a break, sitting under the cross, appreciating the view. To make sure we met Gaisce’s distance goal we headed onwards towards Greystones. On the way we saw a group of very cute cows and calves. The cows, unfortunately, didn’t want to participate in a photoshoot with some of the girls. Once we had reached our furthest point we headed back towards the cross, but first stopped for a quick lunch break. On the return journey we enjoyed chatting and listening to music in our groups. The way down was quite slippy but the girls persevered and made it down in one piece. We were blessed with the weather and had a very enjoyable day. The girls would like the thank Ms Kenny, Ms McDevitt, Ms Byrne and David Mahon for organising and accompanying us on the hike!
