Congratulations to Georgina Dowling, who competed in the grand final of the Leinster Schools Debating Competition 2020/21 yesterday evening.
She proposed the motion “This House Would Vaccinate the Young Before the Old” and made a rebuttal-heavy speech which was excellently delivered. You can watch her speech at 57.00 minutes this link:

Unfortunately, speakers from Belvedere took both the runner up and the 1st prize in the individual category. However, we are extremely proud of Georgina for making it this far, especially as this is her first year or debating. This is an incredible achievement which no speaker from Holy Child has attained in at least 10 years.
Well done to Molly Callaghan and Eve McGann, who made it to the semi-finals, and to Caroline Fahey, who competed in the first three rounds of the competition with Georgina.
