Sports Day in HCK
Sports Day in HCK is, without a doubt, one of the most anticipated days of the year and this year was no exception!
Sports Day is always filled with fun and laughter and of course lots of friendly but fierce competitiveness. The day began with a series of matches including softball, basketball, football and volleyball. Next, we took a quick lunch break and enjoyed the sun. Following our well-deserved rest, we continued with each year going head-to-head in the sprints and the novelty races, which are always very much enjoyed by everyone. Even some of the teachers took part in these novelty games!
These were followed by the very prestigious house relay consisting of one member per house per year and a teacher on each team. It was a tight race with Geraldine House coming out on top!
Then we progressed to the last event, tug of war, where each house worked cohesively together before waiting anxiously to find out who the sports day winners were. This year, it was Hilary House who won Sports Day with quite an impressive lead.
Well done to all who took part and for all the work behind the scenes. Undoubtedly, the whole school demonstrated Cornelia's key characteristics namely, joy, in our working together, our perseverance competing throughout the day and our gratitude for all those who helped make this day possible. I think I can speak for everyone when I say that Sports Day 2026 was a huge success and I'm looking forward to next year!
