Student Wellbeing

Wellbeing in Holy Child Killiney

Holy Child Killiney, as reflected in our mission statement, includes many learning opportunities to enhance the physical, mental, emotional and social wellbeing of students in an open and trusting atmosphere.

According to the Wellbeing Guidelines for Junior Cycle (NCCA), wellbeing is present when students realise their abilities, take care of their physical wellbeing, can cope with the normal stresses of life, and have a sense of purpose and belonging to a wider community. HCK endeavours to incorporate a whole school approach, engaged with and facilitated by students, staff, parents and guardians.

Wellbeing is present in our school in many ways. Day to day, students are encouraged to reflect on, actively develop and improve their own wellbeing with the aid of the Wellbeing Team where necessary.

It’s important to know who to talk to if you feel you need extra support during a given time. Your first point of call is your form tutor. They are there to support you and your wellbeing. A problem shared is a problem halved as they say! You can email them, message them on teams or pull them aside after form tutor period.
