Holy Child Mass of Remembrance
On Tuesday 18th of November, the Holy Child Killiney annual November Remembrance Mass was celebrated in our school Chapel. November is the month of Remembrance. It is the time of year when Christians everywhere gather in faith to pray for our beloved dead.
This Mass is always a beautiful occasion to remember all our loved ones who have died, and pray for peace of heart and consolation.
A large congregation of parents, HCK alumni, Holy Child Sisters and friends gathered in the Chapel to honour their loved ones.
The Mass began with the procession of the Books of Remembrance, incense and candles, symbolising our trust that our loved ones are now in the tender care of God’s Heavenly Kingdom. Following this the names of all those included in the Mass intention were read with reverence.
Continuing the meaningful tradition of placing Memorial plaques in our Chapel three new plaques were blessed this year.
The respectful and uplifting participation of the school Choir added so much to the celebration, and the respectful involvement of the school Chaplaincy Team, Head and Deputy Head girls helped make this a memorable and impactful experience for all.
At the end of the Mass, the Remembrance Candles were blessed and given to each family to keep the light of loving memory shining within their homes for the next year.
