SHCJ European Network of Schools Spring Conference
The Principals and senior school leaders gathered in Dublin last week for this year’s SHCJ European Network of Schools Spring Conference for Heads of School. The two-day conference was hosted in Holy Child Community School and Holy Child Killiney.
The visitors commented how it was a privilege to spend time in both schools’ settings, witnessing the communities in action, to listening to their stories, witnessing the values of SHCJ being lived out so powerfully in practice.
There were discussions and presentations including a thought-provoking session with Claire Kilroy (APTCS). She challenged and inspired the delegates in equal measure, leaving them with much to reflect on as leaders and as individuals.
Throughout the conference, the leaders were reminded of the importance of leadership rooted in faith, service, and courage. exploring key themes including:
• The distinctive mission and values of SHCJ education
• Leadership as service: leading with humility, integrity, and purpose
• Building inclusive, compassionate school cultures
• Supporting staff wellbeing and professional growth
• The role of reflection and prayer in leadership
There was also rich discussion around the evolving landscape of education and the opportunities this
brings to lead with hope, creativity, and conviction.
We look forward to the next opportunity to make links within the SHCJ network again soon.
