Science Week
This year, the HCK Science Week overlapped with Geography Awareness Week, and was hosted through collaborative effort of the Geography Department, Science Department, STEM club students and 5th Year Geography students.
This year our HCK STEM club hosted a variety of schoolwide activities to bring awareness to the science in the world around us:
A whole-school competition for students to submit posters depicting scientific processes. Congratulations to joint winners, 2nd Years Robyn Summerbell and Orla Balek.
A lunchtime science quiz, organised and MCed by STEM club representatives. A huge number of students took part, and winners will be announced after the next STEM club meeting.
A variety of science experiments and demonstrations from STEM club students, including flame tests, density towers, making oobleck and elephant toothpaste, which was held in the Biology lab.
Thanks to the Geography department for generously co-hosting, the STEM club for their organisation and contributions, and to all students and staff who got involved.
Sincerely,
The HCK STEM Club
