Winter Appeal
The Social Action team organised a Winter Coat and Rucksack Appeal in aid of the Alice Leahy Trust, an inspiring inner city small charity who works with rough sleepers. Holy Child has been involved with Alice Leahy for many years, and Alice herself has visited the school on a few occasions to speak with the students.
The response from the HCK community was outstanding. An impressive amount of coats, jackets, jumpers, hats, scarves and rucksacks were donated. In total, 73 coats, 32 rucksacks, 36 warm jumpers and multiple bags of hats and scarves were collected.
These donations will be distributed by the Trust to rough sleepers who are in need of warm clothing and essential items during the challenging winter season. Every donation makes a difference, helping someone keep warm and safe, giving them dignity, and in a small way addressing their complex needs which the Alice Leahy Trust continues to do with such commitment, deep compassion and respect.
It is so affirming and uplifting to see the HCK community come together in support of such a meaningful cause, truly living out the school motto: Actions not Words.
