Debating Success at HCK

We are extremely proud of our students and their achievements on the debating circuit so far this term.

A special congratulations to Louise Purcell, who has reached the Final of the Leinster Schools Debating Competition, the most prestigious Senior Cycle debating competition in the province. The final will take place on Tuesday 10 March at 6:30pm in the Graduate Memorial Building at Trinity College Dublin. We wish Louise the very best of luck.

We also congratulate Sofia Irfan, who reached the Quarter Finals of the Leinster Schools Competition in her very first year of debating – an outstanding achievement.

Last weekend, HCK students were proudly represented at WCDMUN (Wesley College Dublin Model United Nations). Hannah Houlihan, Izzy O’Regan, Maeve Brady, Jake McGuire, Sabine Narzisi and Lara Begley all participated and represented the school with distinction.

Looking ahead, we wish Sofia Irfan and Sabine Narzisi the very best as they compete in the upcoming LnH Senior Mace debating competition.

We are also delighted to celebrate the success of our 3rd Year debaters in the Leinster Regional Final of the John D. National Mace. Congratulations to Harriett Evison, Daireann Quigley, Lily O’Brien and Ciara Turner, who have progressed to the National Final and to Emily Mae Lowe, who also performed exceptionally well in reaching the regional stage.

Finally, we extend our thanks and congratulations to Coach Minnie for her dedication and support.

We are immensely proud of our students for their commitment, confidence and talent on the Debating stage and we look forward to seeing their continued success.
