AIB Future Sparks Exemplary School Award
Holy Child Killiney is proud to have been recognised with an AIB Future Sparks Exemplary School Award 2025/26, acknowledging the outstanding contribution of our students to their local community.
Our project, “Actions Not Words – Small Sparks Fan Flames,” was shortlisted nationally in the AIB Future Sparks School Impact Awards. The initiative highlighted the year-round commitment of our Social Action Team, Chaplaincy Team and Young SVP Conference, who demonstrated that small acts of kindness can create a lasting impact.
Led by student leaders Orla Casey, Amelie Hennessey, Niamh Summerbell and Siobhán Ryan, alongside the dedicated guidance of Mrs Moiselle, students volunteered their time and energy to support a wide range of community initiatives. Throughout the year they helped prepare over 180 meals through local Meals on Wheels services, organised collections of hygiene products and winter clothing, prepared hospital care bags, supported St. Vincent de Paul appeals, and brought companionship and joy to local care centres and hospitals.
The award judges praised the authenticity, consistency and long-term community partnerships demonstrated through the project, recognising the meaningful difference our students have made in the lives of others.
This achievement reflects the values at the heart of Holy Child Killiney and the vision of Cornelia Connelly: that through compassion, service and generosity, young people can make a real difference in the world.
Congratulations to all students involved on this wonderful recognition of their commitment to social action and community service.
This version should fit comfortably into a school newsletter while highlighting the award, the students' work, and the significance of the recognition.
