HCK Golf Classic & 70th Anniversary BBQ Friday 20 April 2018 - Dun Laoghaire Golf Club

Bookings are now open for the annual HCK Golf Classic & 70th Anniversary BBQ! This event is being run by parents and friends of Holy Child Killiney and proceeds will support our development. Last year we were sold out so if you would like to take part in this competition and/or in the social evening to follow, please don’t delay in booking your place!

The afternoon event is a scramble with four players on each team. The cost per team is €500 which includes light lunch on arrival, a full round of golf on the Dun Laoghaire championship golf course and dinner in the evening plus entertainment. The golf event is a shot gun start, teeing off at 1.30pm. Lunch and registration are at 12.15pm.

This year we are holding a special 70th Anniversary BBQ after the golf. It is an opportunity for Mums and Dads in Holy Child to get together, enjoy gorgeous food in a fabulous setting. It is also an evening for Alumnae, who would like to get a table of their classmates together and catch up.  We will be having a two course meal, wine and coffee or tea.  There will also be entertainment provided to help us celebrate!  We hope that all our year groups (past pupils and current parents) will use this as their class night out, take a table and enjoy the evening!  An evening only ticket is €50 per person. To make sure you can relax and enjoy yourselves we will be running mini buses back to the Dun Laoghaire, Dalkey and Killiney areas should you wish to avail of them (small cost applies). Dinner will be at 7.00pm.

You can book online now below! There are no booking fees associated with this event.

HCK Golf Classic 2017 - Winners : The Adam Winkelmann Team!

Congratulations to the Adam Winkelmann team, who came first in our HCK Golf Classic on 12 May 2017 in Dun Laoghaire Golf Club!! They had a winning score of 104 in our Champagne Scramble! They were the lucky winners of four Garmin Golf Watches, kindly sponsored by Ray McCarthy ( father of Abigail McCarthy 2nd Form). Well done!

The only rainy day in 4 weeks (we are trying not to read into this), didn't stop our 17 teams don their wet gear and head out in support of HCK Development. Our second place went to the Sean O' Keefe team and our third place to the Peter Savill Team, two loyal supporters of the HCK Golf Classic so we were delighted to see them win. Second prize of 4 beautiful canteens of Newbridge cutlery, were sponsored by Dave Carroll. Third prize stylish golf shirts were sponsored by Fionnuala McCabe (mum of Laura McCabe 5th Form).

The BBQ in the evening was a lovely combination of good food, plenty of wine and sheer relief to be sitting down after a long day on the course! There were also many non golfing parents who joined us in the evening. We had a lovely evening and a very successful raffle and silent auction, which together raised over €3,000. Thank you to Mary O' Connor (mum of Meadbh Croft 4th Form) for donating one of her fabulous paintings for our auction.

Thank you to all our sponsors, who together with our golfers and evening diners, helped us to raise almost €18,000 towards the development of HCK! We were delighted with all the support we received this year! Thank you also to the generosity of our parents, golfers and non golfers alike, who took part in the HCK Golf Classic by playing, dining and participating in our raffle. We are very grateful. We hope you enjoyed the day/evening!

HCK Development is indebted to the hard working parent committee of Marie Fitzpatrick, Fionnuala McCabe, Neil Noonan, Ray McCarthy, Avril Browne, Ciara Winkelmann, Carron McKinney and Deirdre Morrissey for making this event happen. Thank you!

Donor Thank You Evening

We had a lovely night on Friday 3 March, celebrating our the progress our donors have made towards are Development ambitions. Thank you to all who braved the bad weather to come to the Library and hear Ms Eileen O' Connor (Chair of the Board of Management) and Ms Hackett (Principal) talk about the future of girls in education and how Holy Child is planning for it. We are making sure that our students are given the best opportunities to be and do their best. Thank you all for believing in us and making this possible by commiting to the Development Plan. Here are a few photos of the night!
