‘Prayer is the great source for which the graces of God flow’ – Cornelia Connelly.

Prayer is the way we connect with God, expressing our thanks for the blessings we have, asking him for help in times of need.

Prayer is very personal and specific to individual circumstances. Many people find that saying a short prayer in the morning to bless the day, or before sleep to offer thanks, works as their prayer routine. Other people take time, when out for a walk, to reflect on the beauty of nature, and the blessings of our created world. Spontaneous heartfelt prayers of thanks for a kindness shown, or for someone who needs support, are also ways to stay connected with our spiritual selves. Some people also make special time each day for meditation, or use a religious icon or rosary beads to help connect with God.

We have been graced with our sight, our taste, our smell, our touch and our hearing, and through all these gifts we can continue to be prayerful people.

No matter what form our prayers take, Cornelia explains in this quote that the graces of God flow to us when we pray.

In this time we can turn to God and use this prayerful connection as a means of comfort, and a source of hope. Being in lockdown doesn’t restrict opportunities for kindness, for appreciation, for prayer.
