A huge congratulations to Laura Finucane, 3rd Year, who has gotten through to national trials for the Irish Schools Debating Team.
Laura along with other HCKSpeaks Seniors took part in regional trials for the 5-person team on Saturday 24th September, and was called back to the third round of debating after performing well in the first two rounds.
Laura will now attend in-person trials in Dublin this weekend on 1st-2nd October for a spot on the Irish Schools Debating Team. If successful, she will be trained for the World Schools Debating Competition, which will take place next August in Hanoi, Vietnam.
Well done to all girls who took part in the trials, including 3rd Years Penelope Tennyson-Smith and Kate Fan, and 4th Years Alannah Bewley, Holly Gubala and Trinity Caldwell, who performed excellently against tough competition.
