Musical instruments you have played: I played the violin up until this year.
What are you currently a part of in your first few weeks at HCK secondary school? Basketball, athletics and hockey teams.
What sports do you plan on representing HCK in and what position do you play in these sports? I plan on representing in as many athletics as possible. I play as a wing in basketball but we havn’t been told our positions in hockey yet.
What do you believe are the keys to balancing academics and athletics?
I believe that hard work is the key to balancing academics and athletics.
What advice would you give to students on how to affectively balance academics and athletics i.e. sports? Work hard and play hard but don’t spend all your time on one or the other.
What has been your greatest achievement academically?
Always had good reports and high grades.
What is your greatest achievement in sports?
Played for my schools gaelic football team and got to the final in Croke Park. I represented my tennis club against Czech, Spanish and english teams. I also represented my school in Cumann na mBunscoil athletics in Santry running relay for three years.
What is your most memorable moment in sports?
Playing in Croke Park with half of the school there watching us.
What is your greatest honor which you are most proud of in your life?
I am proud of a lot of things I have done in life but I am only 12 so I’m sure there will be something new that I will soon be proud of.
When you are tired what motivates you to keep going?
The desire to win.
What is your favourite quote?
I don’t exactly have a favorite quote but I like two particularly “shoot for the moon. If you don’t make it you will end among the stars” and “you only live once, but u get to serve twice.”
What sporting legend is your idol and why?
Laura Robson won junior Wimbleton when she was 14 years old.
Who has inspired you the most in life and why?
I think Laura Robson has inspired me most because she won junior Wimbleton so young and she’s still an amazing player.
If there was one thing you could change in this world what would it be?
If I could change anything, I would make money have no value and make humans only eat or take what they needed and give homeless people a place to live so everyone would be happier.
